Hello Bena,

if he would like to take you with him to austria after you your marriage there in the philippines, it would be him who will have to prove that he is “capable” of taking you with him to austria. he should be the one to prove that he can finance your stay here. he will be the one showing bank statements or salary slip to the austrian government not you.

me and my boyfriend are planning to get married in june. At first we talked about him inviting me over to austria, the “visit visa”. At first i thought that it’s somewhat similar to a “tourist visa”

we at first planned not to get married at first, but then when he visited me he popped the question and so now we’re planning to get married here first and then process all papers so that I can come with him to austria.

my question that is related to your blog is that, how did you prove that you are capable? Because in my case, I am a nursing graduate and a registered nurse, and currently I am self employed and working online as a part time korean teacher. In addition, my family is not well off so it means I earn very little online, and I do volunteer work as a nurse. Are there other ways of proving that I am capable? what do I need? The only thing I have is a bank account.

1) I am from India; I got married to Austrian citizen in India. She is on X visa & living with me in India. We both were planning to move Austria. We have Apostille & it’s registered in Austria. So my marriage is legal in Austria. But i would like to know how I can apply for Austrian Stay permit.

2) I am working as an operation manager in India for IT Company.
I am not that much familiar with German. What are the chances I will have for Austria? Can you guide please.

Vienna, I am a Nigerian and had an Austrian Girl friend. We met in Nigeria and we want to come over and live in Austria. I have visited her family in 2009 and am visiting them again now for one month. She said we could not marry because she is a student and had no means of supporting me financially. So my question is :is it not possible for us to marry in Austria because she is a student and had no financial means…second what will be your suggestion for me to do to live with her in Austria cause distance relationship is killing.

i planned to go to Austria via Netherlands, coz i have family there and they invite me to come over.. so i think we will get married during my visit.. do u think i will have problem getting the Aufenhaltstitel if got married that way..?

@ Lydia, yes you still definitely need a visa. and you need to apply for that even you and your BF are already married.

My BF and I are about to get married. But haven’t decide wether we’re going to get married here in Indonesia, my hometown, or in Austria, his hometown. I want to ask you this.. if we decide to get married here in Indonesia, do I still need a Visa to come with him to Austria? or am I automatically allow to enter Austria without visa?

Hi,
I just want to look for an advice regarding my situation.My wife is already is Austria right now it’s been a month since she arrived in vienna.I felt so depressed when she left me and I had this urged to follow her.Her Mom is an Austrian Citizen already her mom is the one who invited her to go there as resident permit visa.My question are:
1. What is the best way to get there?
2. What kind of visa do i need to apply?
3.Is it possible for her mom two sponsor me?
4.We are married but we didnt declare on her documents that we are married since we got married last 2006 and its a long process for her to change the status.
5. Is it ok if we will get marry again in Austria and I will follow the steps that you have posted? but the problem is the certificate of singleness…
6.I just want to be honest I want to be with her since we are newly wed.

i read about your advise to one of the reader of this site, and i think your the best person who can advise me and my austrian boyfriend.

me and my boyfriend are planning to get married in vienna austria soon. so he apply for visit visa for me in austria, but the problem is that we didnt know that before i should go to the embasy of austria here in the phil. i should have an appointment.

the problem is the date he wishes me to be there is may16 and the appointment that i get in the embassy is on may 19. and now he feels that everything that he has done is nothing now.

that is why i am begging you to share with us useful info. about on
1.what will be the best visa should we apply for?
2. where should my boyfriend apply for it?
3. what are the documents needed?
